Notes on the Partnership Strategy
December 11, 2007

The Beaverhead-Deerlodge Partnership came together when the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest released its draft forest management plan in 2006. Because the plan failed to meet the goals and objectives of each of the partners, the Partnership Strategy was developed as a proactive alternative to the Forest Service’s proposals. The Strategy was presented to the Forest Service, which is considering it as it develops a final plan for the forest.

While the Strategy synthesizes a great deal of information about the Beaverhead-Deeerlodge National Forest, and while the proposed actions in the Strategy have provided an important template as the Partnership has moved forward, readers should recognize that legislation proposed by the Partners on October 9, 2007 is the most current proposal being pursued at this time.  While readers are welcome to review the Strategy, the Partners encourage them to go to the Draft Legislation button or click on this link.  Comments on the Partners’ legislative proposal are welcome and encouraged.
